Mission Statement:To create merit lists of the students for representing different regional and international astronomy olympiad to be held in 2022.
The 9th National Astronomy Olympiad 2022 will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022. Extended application deadline is May 5, 2022. Students from class 8-10 (including SEE appeared in 2022) can apply for junior category and class 11-12 can apply for senior category respectively. What is National Astronomy Olympiad (NAO)?
It is an early stage talent hunt program for the school students in Nepal. It’s an annual program for junior (class 8-10) and senior (class 11-12) students in Nepal providing an opportunity to learn communication, collaboration, critical thinking and critical writing to for their personal growth to support their aacdemic career in STEAM field in future. The program has three stages namely first round (entrance exam), second round (pre-closed camp) and third round (closed camp) respectively which will be held between January -July of each year.
This year students will get an opportunity to participate in the upcoming regional and international events:
- The 15th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) will be held in the city of Kutaisi, Georgia during 14-22 August, 2022 (eligible cagetory: senior only)
- The XXV International Astronomy Olympiad will be held in the city of Matera, Italy during October 2022. (eligible cagetory: both) [TBD]
- The 1st International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics for Juniors (IOAA-jr) to be held in Romania. (eligible cagetory: junior only) [TBD]
- The XVI Asian-Pacific Astronomy Olympiad (APAO 2022) (eligible cagetory: both) [TBD]
